LAHORE, PAKISTAN – The three-day FoodAg International Expo concluded today, successfully positioning Pakistan as an emerging hub of agricultural innovation on the world stage. The premier event brought together farmers, agri-tech startups, researchers, and international buyers to showcase cutting-edge solutions aimed at transforming the nation’s agricultural landscape and enhancing food security.
The expo served as a comprehensive platform displaying the latest advancements across the agricultural value chain, from climate-resilient seeds and smart irrigation systems to blockchain-based supply chain solutions and value-added food products. Pakistani companies demonstrated remarkable ingenuity in areas including precision agriculture, post-harvest management, and organic farming practices, attracting significant attention from international delegates and potential export partners.
The event featured live demonstrations of drone technology for crop monitoring, solar-powered irrigation solutions, and digital platforms connecting farmers directly with markets. Special pavilions highlighted women’s role in agriculture and featured innovations from young agripreneurs, underscoring the sector’s evolving dynamics and potential for inclusive growth. The participation of international delegates from over 15 countries created valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and business matchmaking.
Chief Organizer Dr. Ayesha Rehman stated, “FoodAg 2025 has successfully bridged the gap between traditional farming and modern technology. The response from both local farmers and international visitors has been extraordinary. We’re demonstrating that Pakistani agriculture is ready to embrace innovation to overcome challenges of water scarcity, climate change, and food security while creating new economic opportunities.”
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Tariq Bashir Cheema, who inaugurated the event, emphasized the government’s support for agricultural modernization. “The innovations displayed at FoodAg represent the future of Pakistani agriculture. Our government is committed to creating an enabling environment for such technologies to reach every farmer, ensuring sustainable growth in this vital sector.”
The expo also hosted technical sessions on sustainable farming practices, climate-smart agriculture, and export enhancement strategies. Several memoranda of understanding were signed between Pakistani companies and international partners during the event, paving the way for technology transfer and market access.
