China’s Hebei Juhang Energy to Launch Mega Solar Panel Manufacturing Plant in Pakistan

In a landmark move for Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, Hebei Juhang Energy, a leading Chinese solar technology firm, has finalized plans to establish a large-scale solar panel manufacturing plant in Pakistan. This major foreign direct investment (FDI) project is poised to significantly boost local production of photovoltaic (PV) modules, reduce dependence on imported solar equipment, and accelerate the country’s transition to clean energy.

The state-of-the-art facility will manufacture high-efficiency monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels for both the domestic market and export. The investment includes the transfer of advanced manufacturing technology and is expected to create thousands of skilled jobs, while fostering a local supply chain for solar components. The plant’s output will directly support Pakistan’s ambitious targets under the Alternative and Renewable Energy (ARE) Policy and various public and private solar power projects.

This initiative strengthens the strategic economic partnership between Pakistan and China under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, moving beyond infrastructure into high-tech manufacturing and green industry collaboration.

“The establishment of this mega solar panel plant by Hebei Juhang Energy is a game-changer for Pakistan’s energy landscape,” stated a senior official from Pakistan’s Board of Investment. “It will enhance our energy security, create valuable employment, and position Pakistan as a potential hub for solar technology in the region.”

Hebei Juhang Energy representatives confirmed that site selection and feasibility studies are in advanced stages, with construction slated to begin in early 2025.
