Gul Ahmed Appoints Zaki Bashir as Chief Executive Officer

Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited (PSX: GATM), one of the country’s largest textile mills, has appointed Mohammed Zaki Bashir as its Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026. The listed company disclosed the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

“We have to inform you that the Board of Directors of the company has appointed Mohammed Zaki Bashir, director of the company, as Chief Executive Officer with effect from April 1, 2026,” read the disclosure.

Background and Experience

Zaki Bashir joined Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited in 2005 and subsequently joined the Board in 2008. He holds a graduate degree from Regents Business School, UK, in International Business and is also a certified director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG).

His industry leadership roles include membership in the Executive Committee of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). He has also been a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization since 2014. Additionally, he is a member of the Pakistan Textile Council and serves on its board as a director, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Pakistan.
