LAHORE: Zong 5G, in collaboration with the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), has launched a dedicated 5G Customer Facilitation Desk at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, expanding its airport-based digital connectivity services in Pakistan.
The initiative follows the successful rollout of Pakistan’s first 5G airport facilitation kiosk at Islamabad International Airport and reflects Zong’s broader strategy to strengthen next-generation connectivity across major transit hubs.

According to the company, the facilitation desk has been established to provide travelers with immediate access to Zong’s 5G-enabled services, including SIM activation, customer support, digital onboarding and information regarding 5G packages and connectivity solutions.
The company stated that airports are increasingly becoming high-intensity digital connectivity zones where passengers require uninterrupted access to communication, navigation, digital payments, ride-hailing applications and travel-related services immediately upon arrival.
Zong officials noted that the initiative aligns with the company’s vision of accelerating Pakistan’s digital transformation by embedding advanced connectivity solutions into critical public infrastructure and transportation ecosystems.
The launch comes shortly after Zong commercially rolled out 5G services across more than 16 cities in Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Quetta. The company has also announced plans to deploy and upgrade over 1,000 5G sites nationwide during 2026.
Industry observers believe airport-based 5G facilitation centres can play an important role in improving passenger experience while supporting the wider adoption of next-generation telecom services in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
