Wafi Energy Leads Mega Emergency Response Drill on Motorway Corridor

Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited led a large-scale emergency response drill along a key motorway corridor, bringing together multiple stakeholders to test preparedness, coordination and response capabilities in the event of a major road transportation incident.

The exercise simulated a high-risk emergency scenario involving fuel transportation and was conducted in collaboration with emergency services, transport partners and relevant authorities. The drill focused on evaluating response times, incident management procedures, fire suppression measures, medical assistance and environmental protection protocols.

According to Wafi Energy, the initiative forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) excellence. The exercise was designed to strengthen coordination among all participating agencies while ensuring readiness to handle potential emergencies involving fuel logistics and motorway operations.

Emergency simulations included accident response, fire containment, oil spill management, evacuation procedures and vehicle recovery operations. Such drills help identify operational gaps, improve communication between stakeholders and reinforce adherence to established safety protocols.

Wafi Energy, formerly Shell Pakistan, has continued to place a strong emphasis on emergency preparedness through regular training programmes, safety audits and scenario-based exercises across its nationwide operations. The company operates an extensive network of fuel stations, terminals and logistics infrastructure throughout Pakistan.

Industry experts note that large-scale emergency drills are essential for companies involved in energy transportation, helping minimise operational risks while protecting people, assets and the environment. Such exercises also support business continuity planning and strengthen cooperation between public and private sector stakeholders.

The motorway drill underscores Wafi Energy’s continued investment in safety culture and operational resilience as it works to maintain high standards across Pakistan’s energy supply chain and transportation network.
