Raja Mansoor Ahmad Takes Charge as Director General of Punjab Food Authority

Raja Mansoor Ahmad, a Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officer, has officially assumed charge as the new Director General of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), the authority’s spokesperson confirmed. The appointment follows a major provincial bureaucratic reshuffle, with Ahmad succeeding Syed Musa Raza, who has been posted as Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency Punjab.

Ahmad brings extensive administrative expertise to his new role, having previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Pakpattan and Nankana Sahib, Special Secretary for Healthcare and Medical Education, and Director General of Mines and Minerals, as well as Parks and Horticulture Authority, among other key assignments. His diverse portfolio across multiple government departments positions him to lead the authority with a comprehensive understanding of provincial governance and public service delivery.

Upon assuming charge, the new DG reaffirmed his commitment to enforcing food safety laws across Punjab under a strict zero-tolerance policy. He announced that stringent action will be taken against those involved in food fraud, adulteration, and the sale of substandard food products, vowing to utilize all available resources to eliminate food safety threats in line with the Chief Minister’s vision.

Ahmad emphasized that modern technology adoption and human resource development will be prioritized to enhance the authority’s institutional performance and efficiency. He further stated that effective coordination will be strengthened with food business operators, industry stakeholders, and the public to promote compliance and improve food safety standards across the province.
