The initiative is set to deliver robust, secure, and scalable communication solutions to support uninterrupted mining operations in one of the remotest and most challenging terrains in Pakistan. According to the company, the partnership marks a critical milestone in advancing digital infrastructure for one of the country’s most strategically vital mining projects.

“Reko Diq is a project of national importance, and we are proud to contribute by enabling connectivity in this remote region,” said Zia Tariq, Head of Sales – Defense at Supernet Limited. “Our solutions will support safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations.”

The Reko Diq mine — jointly owned by Barrick Gold (50%) and the governments of Pakistan and Balochistan (50%) — is regarded as one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold reserves. Its development is expected to significantly boost Pakistan’s economy.

Barrick Gold’s CEO recently highlighted the mine’s global importance, calling it a future beacon for Pakistan on the international mining map. With production set to begin in 2028, Reko Diq is projected to produce 240,000 tons of copper and 300,000 ounces of gold annually, potentially operating beyond the end of the century as one of the world’s lowest-cost copper producers.
