Previously, CCI Pakistan had invested USD 120,000 in various water replenishment activities within the Ravi Basin, emphasizing scalable, community-led solutions. The new funding will further expand these efforts, in collaboration with WWF Pakistan, which is serving as the implementing partner for the project.

The project launch event brought together key stakeholders from CCI Pakistan, The Coca-Cola Company, and WWF Pakistan, and showcased impactful interventions already underway. These include:

  • Rainwater harvesting systems
  • Groundwater recharge wells
  • Floating wetland systems
  • Public awareness campaigns like ‘Fix the Leak’

Speaking at the event, Sunay Sanlı, General Manager of CCI Pakistan, highlighted the importance of collaborative action for sustainable water use. “We are proud to bring this vision to life in partnership with WWF and local institutions. Our goal is to continue creating measurable impact by restoring water sources and strengthening our commitment to the communities we serve,” he said.

Sanlı, a Turkish executive with international experience, brings a global sustainability perspective to CCI’s operations in Pakistan.

Coca-Cola İçecek, part of Türkiye’s Anadolu Group, is a multinational beverage powerhouse with 33 bottling plants and 3 fruit processing facilities across 12 countries, serving over 600 million people. In Pakistan, the company continues to align its operations with environmental best practices, working alongside public and private partners to advance the vision of a water-secure, sustainable future.

The expanded support for the Restoring River Ravi Project underscores CCI’s ongoing mission to replenish natural water systems and empower local communities in the face of growing water challenges.
