The AYII program is designed to provide farmers with financial protection against yield losses resulting from adverse climatic events and other agricultural risks. Offering wide-ranging coverage that includes windstorms, frost, excessive rainfall, heat waves, hail, floods, droughts, and pest attacks, the initiative ensures farmers are better equipped to manage the unpredictability of farming conditions.

“This payout underscores the Bank’s commitment to supporting farmers in mitigating their losses incurred due to natural or environmental calamities,” said Aamir Kureshi, Head Products Transactional Services and Solution Delivery – HBL. “At HBL, we recognize the crucial role agriculture plays in ensuring Pakistan’s economic growth. Our goal is to continue building a stronger, more resilient farming community and their agricultural livelihoods—because when farmers thrive, Pakistan thrives.”

HBL’s strategic leadership in Agri Financing is helping to reshape rural economies by enhancing financial inclusion and delivering long-term support to farming communities. By offering insurance products like AYII, the bank is actively contributing to national food security while fostering resilience among smallholder farmers who are often the most vulnerable to climate-related shocks.

This milestone payout is part of HBL’s broader mission to champion sustainable development in Pakistan’s agricultural sector, reinforcing the bank’s position as a trailblazer in agricultural innovation and inclusive finance.
