Telenor Pakistan has named Bilal Javed Bhatti as its new Chief Business Officer (CBO), marking a key leadership appointment as the company accelerates its growth agenda and digital-service rollout in Pakistan. With over two decades of experience spanning product management, sales leadership, customer experience and strategic development, Mr Bhatti has been an integral part of Telenor’s journey in Pakistan for more than 12 years. “Bilal’s appointment is a proud moment for us as it reflects the strength of our internal talent pipeline. He has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership, commercial acumen, and people-first thinking, qualities that make him a strong addition to our leadership team,” said Fridtjof Rusten, CEO of Telenor Pakistan. “I am confident he will continue to build on our growth momentum and strengthen our value proposition for customers and partners alike.”
In his prior role as Vice President Sales & Distribution, Mr Bhatti led large scale channel digitalisation, fintech integrations and retail network transformation — achievements that positioned Telenor to capture emerging opportunities in Pakistan’s evolving telecom-and-digital-services environment. In his new capacity as CBO, he will oversee the company’s business growth strategies, customer-lifecycle operations and partnerships, aligning them with shifting consumer behaviour, 5G readiness and upstream services. The appointment comes at a time when Pakistan’s telecom sector is navigating evolving regulatory frameworks, digital financial services convergence and rising consumer expectations for seamless connectivity and value-added solutions.
Under this new leadership chapter, Telenor Pakistan will focus on scaling converged services — combining connectivity, mobile financial solutions and enterprise offerings — to deepen market share and enhance operational efficiency. With Mr Bhatti at the helm of commercial functions, the company signals its commitment to leveraging home-grown talent while driving innovation through strategic partnerships and customer-centric initiatives. This announcement reinforces Telenor’s broader vision to strengthen its footprint in Pakistan’s digital economy and deliver more inclusive, value-driven services across urban and semi-urban markets.
