Since its inception, IBA-CEIF has been at the forefront of bridging the gap between academia and industry, producing over 2,000 graduates through its specialized certification programs, executive trainings, and degree programs. The Centre has published more than 50 groundbreaking research papers and policy documents that have influenced regulatory frameworks and industry practices. Its flagship annual international conference has become a premier platform for global Islamic finance scholars, practitioners, and regulators to exchange knowledge and address contemporary challenges.
The celebration event brought together prominent figures from the financial sector, academia, and regulatory bodies, including State Bank of Pakistan officials, leading Islamic bankers, and international scholars. The gathering reflected on the Centre’s journey from its founding vision to becoming Pakistan’s most respected institution for Islamic finance education and research, recognized for its rigorous academic standards and practical industry relevance.
Dr. Ahmed Junaid, Director of IBA-CEIF, reflected on the journey: “These ten years represent our unwavering commitment to excellence in Islamic finance. We have not only educated professionals but have also contributed significantly to policy formulation and industry growth. Our research has helped shape a more robust and inclusive Islamic financial system in Pakistan, while our graduates are leading innovation in institutions across the country and beyond.”
The Centre has played a crucial role in supporting Pakistan’s transition toward an interest-free economy by developing human capital and providing research-based solutions to implementation challenges. Its collaborations with international institutions including the Islamic Development Bank, AAOIFI, and leading global universities have positioned Pakistan as a significant contributor to the global Islamic finance knowledge ecosystem.
Looking ahead, IBA-CEIF announced plans to launch new specialized programs in FinTech and Islamic social finance, expand its digital learning platforms, and strengthen its research focus on sustainability and climate finance from an Islamic perspective.
