Jazz Launches Groundbreaking Digital Inclusion Initiative, Distributing 2 Million Free SIMs to BISP Women Beneficiaries

Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has announced a landmark initiative to distribute 2 million free SIMs to women beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), marking one of the largest digital inclusion drives in the country’s history. The program aims to bridge the gender digital divide and empower marginalized women with connectivity, information, and access to essential services.

This strategic initiative will provide free Jazz SIMs, complete with data and minutes, enabling women to access critical digital services, including mobile banking, educational resources, and healthcare information. Each SIM will come pre-loaded with a data package and is designed to ensure sustained connectivity, helping integrate these women into the formal digital economy. The program specifically targets female beneficiaries of BISP across rural and underserved regions, where digital access remains limited.

The initiative is part of Jazz’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and its vision of a fully connected Pakistan. By focusing on women—who are often disproportionately affected by the digital divide—Jazz aims to foster financial independence, improve digital literacy, and enhance access to government services and support mechanisms.

Aamer Ejaz, Chief Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Officer at Jazz, stated, “Connectivity is a fundamental right in today’s world. Through this initiative, we are not just providing SIMs—we are opening doors to education, financial services, and opportunities for millions of women. Empowering women with digital tools is essential for inclusive growth, and we are proud to partner with BISP to make this a reality.”

The Secretary of BISP, added, “This partnership with Jazz is a significant step toward achieving our goal of women’s socio-economic empowerment. Digital access will enable our beneficiaries to receive information, utilize online services, and participate more actively in the digital ecosystem, ultimately improving their quality of life.”

Recipients will also receive access to Jazz’s educational and health content platforms, further enhancing the initiative’s impact. The rollout will be conducted in phases, with BISP and Jazz collaborating to identify and reach eligible women efficiently.
