Speaking in Lahore, Hiconics President Ron Shen said Pakistan has emerged as a strategically important market due to its growing renewable energy demand, geographic significance and evolving role in regional economic and political dynamics.
The company plans to adopt a phased expansion strategy beginning with product supply, ecosystem development, technical support infrastructure and local training initiatives before moving towards local assembly and manufacturing operations. The roadmap includes potential ODM, SKD and CKD manufacturing models over the long term.
Hiconics operates under Midea Group, one of China’s largest technology companies with annual revenues exceeding $50 billion. The company specialises in renewable energy technologies including solar inverters, battery storage systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs) and intelligent energy management solutions for residential and commercial users.
Company officials noted that Pakistan’s energy market is rapidly evolving as consumers increasingly move towards hybrid energy systems, solar adoption and battery storage solutions amid rising electricity prices and concerns over energy reliability.
Hiconics also highlighted the growing importance of AI-powered energy management systems, describing intelligent energy optimisation as an increasingly critical component of future renewable infrastructure. The company plans to introduce integrated digital platforms covering energy solutions, HVAC systems, heat pumps and smart home technologies.
The company stated that any future manufacturing investment would depend on factors including political stability, regulatory consistency, tax structures and overall business viability in Pakistan.
Industry analysts view the development as another positive signal for Pakistan’s renewable energy and manufacturing sectors, especially as Chinese companies continue exploring investment opportunities linked to clean energy, battery storage and industrial localisation.
