Through the new platform, customers can settle electricity, water, gas, telecom, and municipal bills using NBP’s digital channels—such as mobile app, online banking, and ATMs—while HAZECO manages backend transaction routing, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance. The integration supports instant payment confirmation, automated dispute handling, and transaction analytics for billers.

NBP emphasized that the partnership eliminates manual payment collection inefficiencies, reduces cash dependency, and enhances revenue assurance. Meanwhile, HAZECO is expanding its reach into institutional bill payments, using advanced middleware technology to interface with multiple utility providers.

The platform simplifies biller onboarding and revenue tracking, improving reconciliation for utility aggregators. For consumers, it offers convenience, transparency, and 24/7 access without requiring physical visits. NBP plans awareness campaigns and fee discounts during the initial rollout period.

This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s broader financial inclusion goals and e-governance agendas, while supporting government efforts to reduce leakages and improve fiscal transparency. Both NBP and HAZECO envision gradual expansion to other financial institutions and state entities to build a nationwide digital utility ecosystem.
