The strong inflows underscore the continued and growing contribution of the Pakistani diaspora to the national economy, providing crucial support to the country’s foreign exchange reserves and external account .
Saudi Arabia retained its position as the largest source of remittances, contributing $914 million in July, which represents an 11% increase from the $824 million recorded in the same month last year . The United Arab Emirates followed with $737 million, while the United Kingdom and the United States contributed $555 million and $317 million, respectively . These figures demonstrate sustained strong inflows from Pakistan’s key overseas employment corridors .
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the substantial increase, describing the growth as “highly encouraging” and praising overseas Pakistanis for their consistent and positive contribution to the country’s economic stability . The July inflows follow a strong performance in the previous fiscal year, when workers’ remittances rose by 9% to $41.6 billion during FY26, compared with $38.3 billion in FY25 .
