The key changes are as follows:
- Petrol (Motor Spirit): The price remains unchanged at Rs253.17 per litre. This is the third consecutive fortnight with no change.
- High-Speed Diesel (HSD): The price has been increased by Rs11.30 per litre. The new ex-depot price is Rs268.38 per litre.
This revision follows the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and reflects movements in international crude oil markets. The diesel price hike partially offsets the reductions granted at the start of January 2026.
The increase in diesel is particularly significant for Pakistan’s economy, as HSD is the primary fuel for the transport and agricultural sectors, powering trucks, buses, tractors, and tube-wells. This is likely to impact the cost of transporting goods and agricultural produce, potentially affecting inflation.
