The agreement aims to establish SilkWay Impex as a key strategic partner and facilitator for Chinese enterprises looking to invest, establish joint ventures, and set up manufacturing operations across various sectors in Pakistan.

Strategic Role & Scope of the MoU:

  • Investment Facilitation Hub: SilkWay Impex will act as a single-window facilitator, providing end-to-end advisory and operational support to Chinese investors. This includes market entry strategies, regulatory navigation, partnership matchmaking, and logistical assistance.
  • Sector Focus: The collaboration will prioritize investment in infrastructure, energy, technology, agriculture, and industrial manufacturing—sectors aligned with both Pakistan’s development needs and Chinese expertise under the CPEC and broader BRI framework.
  • Building on CPEC: This MoU represents a strategic evolution within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), moving towards deepening B2B (business-to-business) linkages and attracting private Chinese capital beyond government-to-government projects.

Impact and Strategic Vision:
A SilkWay Impex spokesperson stated that the agreement “formalizes our role as a bridge between the entrepreneurial spirit of China and the immense potential of Pakistan’s market.” For Chinese investors, it reduces perceived risks and complexities associated with entering the Pakistani market.

The move is expected to unlock a new wave of foreign direct investment (FDI), create employment, facilitate technology transfer, and enhance Pakistan’s export capacity by integrating local industries into global Chinese supply chains. This private-sector-led initiative underscores the maturing and deepening of the Pakistan-China economic partnership.
