Telenor Pakistan Launches VoWiFi to Revolutionize Connectivity Nationwide

Telenor Pakistan today announced the launch of its highly anticipated Voice-over-WiFi (VoWiFi) service across its network, heralding a transformative shift in how people in Pakistan connect and communicate. The new service allows Telenor customers to make and receive calls using any Wi-Fi network — whether at home, in remote areas, or locations where mobile signal is weak or non-existent — while retaining their original mobile number.

With VoWiFi, Telenor aims to deliver reliable and uninterrupted voice calling and break down traditional network limitations that often hinder connectivity in basements, remote villages, or densely built-up urban zones. According to the company, this service offers a dependable alternative to conventional cellular calls, ensuring users stay connected even when mobile towers cannot reach them.

“We are thrilled to introduce VoWiFi, a transformative service that reshapes the future of voice calling,” said Waqas Aman Ullah, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Telenor Pakistan. “At Telenor Pakistan, we are committed to empowering our customers with innovative solutions that enhance connectivity and make their lives easier. VoWiFi is a testament to our dedication to improving customer experiences and reflects our ongoing efforts to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in the telecom industry. I’m also grateful to the members of Technology and Commercial teams especially Waleed Abbas (Head of Product Strategy), Syed Fawad Shabbar (Manager Network & Devices), and Memoona Arshad (Assistant Manager Devices & Product Planning) whose dedication and hard work truly brought this launch to life.”

The rollout of VoWiFi comes as part of Telenor’s broader mission to address connectivity challenges and expand access to modern communication technologies throughout Pakistan. With compatible handsets now supported, Telenor customers are encouraged to check their device’s compatibility and enable the feature via Wi-Fi networks for improved voice call quality, reliability, and convenience. This development promises to usher in a new era of seamless communication — helping bridge connectivity gaps in underserved areas and offering a robust alternative to traditional mobile signals.
