Allied Bank and LUMS Launch 4th Fintech Hackathon to Drive Pakistan’s Digital Innovation

Allied Bank, in partnership with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), has announced the launch of the 4th Fintech Hackathon 2025, an initiative designed to spark disruptive solutions in finance, banking and digital customer experience. The programme invites students, fintech startups, and tech entrepreneurs to submit prototypes or ready-to-launch ideas across thematic areas such as digital onboarding and KYC automation, sustainable green banking, conversational AI, embedded finance and RAAST-based P2M payments.

According to the announcement, the prize pool exceeds PKR 5.7 million, with separate tracks for early-stage startups and growth-stage fintechs. “Our aim at Allied Bank is to nurture the next generation of digital finance leaders and provide them access to real banking infrastructure, mentorship and opportunities to scale,” said a senior executive at Allied Bank. “We believe that ideas conceived in this forum will define the future of financial services in Pakistan.”

LUMS faculty and leadership added: “By working with industry and academia together, we can create bridges from concept to deployment, enabling students and innovators to build real-world solutions.” The hackathon offers participants access to Allied Bank’s Open Banking APIs, developer sandbox environments and mentorship to accelerate go-to-market.

Top teams will also receive internships, portfolio support and opportunities to integrate solutions directly with live banking channels. This collaboration marks another step in Pakistan’s fintech ecosystem maturation and highlights the bank’s commitment to innovation, inclusion and talent development.
