ELFA and Bykea Electrify Pakistan’s Gig Economy with Affordable Sustainable Mobility

In a landmark partnership aimed at transforming Pakistan’s urban transportation landscape, ELFA, an early-stage Brazilian electric vehicle (EV) startup, has joined hands with Bykea to introduce over 1,000 electric three-wheelers across major cities including Lahore and Karachi. This initiative is a significant step toward promoting clean, efficient, and inclusive mobility for gig workers, particularly those operating in the ride-hailing and delivery segments.

These electric three-wheelers, which operate as CNG-EV hybrid tricycles, come in two battery configurations—31 kWh and 40 kWh—delivering a driving range of approximately 250 to 300 kilometers per charge. The vehicles are equipped with modern safety and navigation features and are supported by ELFA’s growing charging network. Bykea riders will now have access to eco-friendly vehicles with lower running costs and higher reliability, enabling them to enhance their daily earnings.

“By introducing electric vehicles to our platform, we are not only reducing carbon emissions but also increasing earning potential for our riders through lower operational costs,” said the management team at ELFA.

This strategic move aligns with broader sustainability goals and reflects the increasing demand for green transportation alternatives. It also marks a critical shift in the gig economy, providing riders with tools that are not only cost-effective but also environmentally responsible. The partnership sets a new precedent for how technology and collaboration can support sustainable livelihoods in developing markets.
