LAHORE: MG Motor Pakistan has signed an agreement to begin exporting locally assembled vehicles to Bangladesh, marking a major milestone for Pakistan’s automotive manufacturing industry. The development makes MG Pakistan one of the few local automobile manufacturers to enter an international export market, reflecting the growing competitiveness of Pakistan’s automotive sector.

The agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral trade while creating new opportunities for Pakistan’s automotive exports. Initial shipments will focus on selected MG models assembled at the company’s local manufacturing facility, with plans to expand exports as production capacity increases and regional demand grows.

MG Pakistan stated that the export initiative aligns with its long-term strategy of positioning Pakistan as a regional manufacturing hub. The company has continued investing in local assembly operations, dealership expansion, after-sales services and workforce development to support sustainable growth and international competitiveness.

Officials noted that exporting vehicles will contribute to higher production volumes, improve economies of scale and support Pakistan’s efforts to increase value-added exports. The initiative is also expected to generate employment opportunities while strengthening the domestic automotive supply chain.

Industry analysts view the agreement as a positive step for Pakistan’s automobile industry, demonstrating the country’s growing manufacturing capabilities and export potential. Successful vehicle exports are expected to enhance Pakistan’s industrial profile while encouraging further investment in automotive production and regional trade.
